Art and essay competition
World Water Day has been celebrated in Nagykanizsa for many years – and this year was no different. The local government, Kaán Károly Environmental Association, South-Transdanubian Waterworks Inc., and IMRO-DDKK Nonprofit Ltd. announced this year’s art and essay competition for kindergartens and primary schools entitled “Water and Sustainability”. Kindergarten and lower primary school students could show their talent in drawing, while higher primary school students had the chance to excel in essay writing. The children could use any technique to create their works, which had to be related to the nationwide programme. The competition received submissions from Croatia and Slovenia as well. As part of the World Water Day programmes, the children were given the opportunity to visit the water tower of Teleki Street through the courtesy of the Waterworks company.
The awards ceremony of the art and essay competition took place on 20 March 2015. An exhibition of the drawings was held in ‘HSMK’ community centre.
