Eco-train ride in the frame of the EYD2015 project
The recently initiated EYD2015 project, implemented in Europe by an international consortium in which IMRO-DDKK Nonprofit Ltd. also participates, targets mainly children. As considered by the project, offering trainings and awareness-raising activities to children from an early age is one of the keys for preserving the Earth and ensuring sustainable development.
This year, IMRO-DDKK Nonprofit Ltd. carries out the so-called poster-campaign in the frame of the project, besides other activities such as the awareness-creating programmes aimed at bringing children and nature closer and that way, allowing them to understand better the most relevant factors that influence their living conditions, either in a positive or negative manner.
On 29th and 30th April first-grade pupils from the Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Primary School and five-grade pupils from the Zrínyi Miklós-Bolyai János Primary School had the possibility to participate in an “Eco-train ride”. The two-day programme included visits to the watermill of Szécsisziget and to local farms where children got familiarised with animals like buffalos. Moreover, they had the opportunity to travel to Kistolmács by taking the eco-train which crosses forests and other close to nature areas which characterise the region. These programmes provided a unique possibility to children to get closer to nature and experiences were very positive.
