Eco-train ride with our Peruvian guests
Under the “EYD2015: The future we want” project Peruvian environmental experts have visited Nagykanizsa. Teresita Irene Antazú López, representing Yanesha people, and Jhenny Muñoz from Asháninka community attended the three-day experience sharing event, where they had the opportunity to introduce their principal mission, consisting in raising general awareness about the negative impact deforestation in the Amazonian basin has to the environment and biodiversity at a global level. They have also highlighted the main dangers threatening living areas of Amazonian native people.
During the three-day event, our Peruvian guests have participated in a number of experience-sharing programmes such as the workshop organised on October 17th or the eco-train ride carried out on October 18th, which took place thanks to the cooperation of the forest managing company of Zala, owner of the forest railway. During this activity, our Peruvian guests had the opportunity to have an insight into the Hungarian forest management and to get familiarised with the new “wagon transformed into learning-space” addressing kindergarten and primary school children.
Teachers and other professionals active in the field of environmental education were also invited to attend the above event.
Viaje en el tren ecológico con nuestras invitadas de Perú
Como ya lo habíamos comentado anteriormente, representantes de comunidades nativas de la cuenca del Amazonas visitaron Nagykanizsa en el marco del proyecto “EYD2015: El futuro que queremos”. Teresita Irene Antazú López, en representación del pueblo Yanesha y Jhenny Muñoz de la comunidad Asháninka fueron invitadas a asistir a un evento de tres días, organizado en nuestra ciudad para compartir experiencias y buenas prácticas en materia de protección ambiental. Las expertas en medio ambiente también tenían la oportunidad de presentar su misión principal, que consiste en crear conciencia sobre las consecuencias negativas que la deforestación de la cuenca del Amazonas pueda tener para el medio ambiente y la biodiversidad, a nivel mundial. También se habló de los principales peligros que amenazan las áreas habitadas por comunidades nativas de la cuenca del Amazonas.
Durante estos tres días, nuestras invitadas también participaron en numerosos programas realizados para compartir experiencias, tales como el taller organizado el 17 de octubre, o bien el viaje en el tren ecológico realizado el 18 de octubre. Éste último tuvo lugar gracias a la colaboración de la compañía ferroviaria forestal del condado Zala. Durante esta actividad, nuestras invitadas tuvieron la posibilidad de conocer desde muy cerca la gestión forestal en Hungría, y también se familiarizaron con una nueva herramienta para fomentar la educación ambiental entre niños de 4 a 10 años. Esta nueva herramienta es conocida como “el vagón de aprendizaje” ya que se trata de un vagón de tren transformado en un espacio de aprendizaje.
Profesores y otros profesionales, altamente comprometidos con la enseñanza ambiental, también asistieron al evento.
